Today it's one week since I went vegan. I'm almost done with my 10-day challenge, but, guess what. Yes, I have made the decision to continue vegan, as long as I will feel comfortable doing it.
The desire to eat meat decreases by the day. Various salami and sausages still sound appealing, but I'm fighting the aromas.
I have one concern about my lifestyle and that is - will I get enough protein? Not being a big fan of beans & legumes (but I'm working on it!) I might find that a bit of a challenge. That is why I am contemplating - for a while at least - consuming hemp protein powder that is said to be a wonder. For a price of 17 EUR per 0,4 kg it should be.
I am having kind of a toothache since yesterday (I guess is just my 8th tooth growing at a pace of a snail) so this morning I voted for ... drum-roll... baby food!
Some kind of powdered cereals with chocolate & hazelnuts that happens to be vegan, though not too healthy. Needless to say, one hour later I'm already beginning to feel hungry again, but I have a yogurt and a banana with me and I have an early lunch today. So I think I'll be just fine :)
Note to self: do not consume coffee after 6 pm again!
ps: -2 kg

Hi Kristina,
ReplyDeleteBjorn from the Provamel team here. Nice challenge you have there. I hope our products can support you in the days you have ahead! I will tweet your blog via the provamel account and ask for some extra support!
Keep on going!
Bjorn
Bjorn, welcome to my blog & thanks for the support. I must say, I'm a BIG fan of Provamel, consuming soy milk, soy spread (margarine), soy cousine cream and - how could I live without it - your super tasty soy yogurts!
ReplyDeleteI'm not new to Provamel products because I have been having them for over a year now since going dairy free.
So, thank you for your wonderful products. I couldn't imagine a tasty vegan diet without them.
Any chance of a cheese / ricotta replacement any time soon? :)
Your eating habits really do sound healthy, I just love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, cause you have not seen today's menu yet! :)) White bread, lots of spaghetti & dessert for dinner?! :)
ReplyDeleteThis vegan diet really has you hungry half the time :)
Hi Kristina,
ReplyDeleteThx for your comments! I will pass them through to the team because each day they are working hard to give people like you tasty plant-based food! If you are fan of our yoghurts then you will be excited in the coming months... :-). We just launched an apple-green tea yofu and he will be launched in May in the UK together with some other delicious yofu's!
Cheese is not an easy one. I have tasted some products already and I was very disappointed. In my opinion, they don't taste at all or they taste very artificial... . And as only the best is good enough, not for Provamel thus :-)
Keep on going!
Bjorn
This is the link to the product btw... (in dutch) http://www.provamel.be/Bel_NL/getpage.asp?i=282&gr=03&pr=295&mrg=-662
ReplyDeleteOh my god. Orange & banana? Apple & Green tea? :)) Heaven, really! I just need to bribe our importer for the Slovenian market then (sadly, am not from UK!).
ReplyDeleteAbout cheese: yeah, I agree. You're my only hope, you guys. The products on the market, at least our market, are sadly a let-down. I've tested the appraised sheese ... and didn't get further than that. I'm not sure we even have anything beside sheese.
Thanks again for all the support. I'm very pleased u find the blog useful and am so happy to share recipes & contribute to the vegan society. I'm more than happy to be a proud part of it. Check out my spaghetti bolognese that was made with your Provamel minced soy, of course! Absolutely delicious!
Hope your slovenian importer will stock it! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYour spaghetti looks very nice! On our website you can find quite some nice recipes too...
